Applying for a Reception School Place
General Information
Will your child be joining Reception in September 2023 and are you wondering how you apply for a Wakefield Primary School place?
If your child was born between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019, you can apply for a full-time school place to start school in September 2023. You should receive a letter from Wakefield Council in Autumn 2022.
You can apply for your child’s Reception place by following this link:
www.wakefield.gov.uk/schools-and-children/schools/admissions/reception
You can apply online for a Reception school place in September 2021, between 1st September 2022 and 15th January 2023.
If you apply after this date it can severely reduce your chances of obtaining a place at your preferred school.
It is your responsibility to apply for a school place for your child. The application must be made by someone with legal Parental Responsibility for the child.
